Backyard

When we bought our house in the winter time 2.5 years ago, we didn't realize there was sprinklers in the front yard, but not the back. We couldn't keep on top of the watering by hand, and the grass died last year. It was quite the mud pit and certainly an eye sore for the neighbors that can see into our yard. With some of the money we earned from the garage sale, we were able to hire a friend of Marc's to help install sprinklers in the backyard. They worked hard most of the day and put in a whole automatic sprinkler system, and even fixed a few broken sprinkler heads in the front yard. Marc was able to learn a ton and feels a lot more confident about fixing them.

 The grass was too far gone and had to be completely replaced. When we finally figured out a plan to hydroseed, we hired a few young men to help rototill and rake out the yard in preparation to be seeded.

 We had a company come out and hydroseed the entire thing. They were quick and efficient and soon we were waiting for little grass blades to come up.

About 3 weeks after spraying, and watering 3 times every day, we had grass blades shooting out all over the place. It was so exciting to watch it come in and thicken up. The kids had fun checking the progress each day and couldn't wait for the "1st mowing" so they could go out and play in the backyard again. We cut back on the watering, and soon Marc had to triple his time cutting the grass :)

It's amazing what grass will do to brighten up an area. We've been really pleased with how everything turned out and can now enjoy our backyard again :)
