Our Saturdays are now consumed with football games down in Boise. The first two games the boys had started at 8:30 in the morning. Which meant, we had to leave our house by 7:30 to get there a little after 8 in order for them to get warmed up and practice a bit before the game starts.
Lexi was invited to her cousin Claire's birthday party on Saturday, August 24. My sister-in-law was sweet, and tried her hardest to accommodate us so we weren't making two trips down in one day. The football game ended around 9:30, but the party didn't start until 1:00, so we had some time to kill in between. Our first stop was a little bakery called Pastry Perfection. We each picked out a doughnut and enjoyed sitting inside sharing bites with everyone.
Next, we drove down to the Discovery Center in Boise. The kids earned free passes through the Library, and even better, each pass got an adult in as well! We spent a couple of hours there, and could have easily spent an hour more, just exploring, playing, and learning with the different exhibits and hands on activities.
We made a quick stop at a grocery store to pick up bread and lunch meat. We ate in the car and dropped off Lexi at the party. The boys were invited to stay and play with Nathan as long as they knew that there wasn't enough crafts for them to do at the party, but they could come down and have cake. They were thrilled! Marc and I went over to my mom's to rest and talk with her until it was time to pick up all the kids.
We were definitely all wiped out by the end of the day! But what a fun way to spend our last Saturday before school starts.
