We're never sure if we will celebrate New Year's or not. Sometimes we do, most of the times we don't. We were going to have people over at our house this year (eliminating the need to hire a babysitter for the whole night). However, some got sick, and the others bailed. Gina and Bryan invited us over to their house to play games and stay up, I asked if we could bring the kids and she agreed if we were able to put them to bed at their house.
The kids had a quick pre-countdown, countdown and got to drink a little sparkling cider. The big kids were good and went to bed fairly easily. Isabel wanted nothing to do with falling asleep in a strange place. She stayed up for a couple more hours then finally crashed and didn't protest when I laid her down in the pack and play.
There was another couple there, Ann & Travis McDowell. We've played with them before at the Sorenson's. We tried a trivia game, and played apples to apples for awhile. We ate tons of junk and pop. Finally, (we were SOOOO tired!!!!) it was time for the countdown.
