Lexi's School Concert

Lexi's school puts on a Christmas Concert for grades K-6. We had no idea what to expect. It didn't start until 7:00 (on a weekday). Marc's parents got to come with us, so we went to dinner at Texas Road House before and then drove over to the College of Idaho where the concert was taking place.

Lexi was excited that she got to wear a fancy Christmas Dress. She got to sit on the front row of the auditorium with her teacher and class for the first part of it. Isabel was in no mood to sit and watch, especially since it was her bedtime, so Marc and I took turns with her out in the hall or at the top of the auditorium as she ran around and explored.

This is the only picture I have from the evening, and the quality is cruddy. I think we got a video of one of the songs on Marc's phone.

So, the concert was unbelievable! The kids did amazing. They had kind of a cheezey performance inbetween the songs by some of the older kids, but they did a good job. Each song had movements and dancing with it and all of the kids were in sync. Even the 6th grade boys were participating! The teacher had choreographed a "Flashlight Dance" to the Transyberian Orchesta's "Carol of the Bells" song and it was really cool. The Kindergarteners were invited up about halfway through and they stood along the front of everyone. They did a "Hip Hop Elf" song, and "Let's Build a Gingerbread House", and a couple of others. Lexi was really cute to watch. She was a little shy at first and kept nervously playing with her hair, but then she just started beaming and dancing along. It was a fun, LATE night.
