Merry Christmas!

Our little "alarms" woke us up nice and early on Christmas morning. They climbed into bed with us and Marc asked them "do you know what day it is?" Tyler told him "It's Jesus' birthday!!" Then they talked about whether or not Santa had come and we told him that we'd just have to go see. Bryce got down the stairs first and when he got to the bottom he looked at the Christmas tree and shouted out "Presents!!" It was priceless. They both took notice that Santa had eaten their cookies then we let them dump out their stockings and eat one piece of candy. We had just a few presents under the tree. Tyler would rip open his and then look over to make sure that Bryce didn't get something better than him, it was pretty cute. Bryce was happy with just the little train cars that we got him, he wasn't even interested in opening any more after that. Tyler on the other hand loved opening the presents and wanted to open everything he could. Santa got them hand puppets, Thomas the Train Coloring books, and some small trains. Their grandparents were very generous and gave them a doctor's kit, keyboard, giant trucks, books, and some ducks and frogs for the bathtub.

Each year we've gone to Krohn's Conservatory where they have a live nativity and inside the greenhouse is a train display and festive Holiday display of flowers and plants. The kids loved the animals, running around, seeing the fish, and watching train and waterfall. We came home and let them play with presents for awhile, were unsucessful in putting them down for naps so went over to Grandma and Grandpa's a little early to play. We enjoyed a fancy ham dinner with Marc's family and when the kids had melted down enough from too much excitement, candy and not enough sleep we went home. We were absolutely exhausted but content by the end of the day!! I loved seeing how excited the boys were about everything. We didn't touch anything packing wise which made for some very long and difficult next couple of days, but I was glad that we could just enjoy Christmas as a family and not worry about anything else.
