Festival of Lights

Each Winter the zoo puts on the "Festival of Lights" which takes place at night and the whole zoo is lit up with Christmas Lights. There's shows, hot chocolate stands, meet Santa and his Reindeer, and lots more. We love bundling up and being outside as a family watching all the people and pretty lights. You don't go to the "Festival of Lights" to see animals, nearly all of them are sleeping or you can't get into their exhibit but its still fun to go to the zoo (especially since we're members and don't have to pay extra for it!). This year, they had a "member's preview" night before Thanksgiving, so we thought we'd go while it was still kind of warm outside. They had a great puppet show, the boys loved it! (and so did we!) we waited in line forever to ride the "red train" and saw the new baby cheetah that's in the nursery (he is absolutely adorable!!). We had hoped to make it back...once maybe the truck is loaded and we still have a few days before it closes. But anyway, here are some belated pictures from our adventure.
