Wanda Witch Adventure Race

In October, we stumbled upon the "Wanda Witch Adventure Race" One couple in our ward, the Eckersley's, has been putting on this "race" for several years now for anyone in the neighborhood that wants to participate. This year, the competition was done by families. Essentially, Jason and Maria would post a clue on Sunday night, and you had to figure out the clue, photograph or video yourself there, and post it on facebook by Saturday at midnight to earn points. We had a blast with it, and it was a really fun way to explore the area around our neighborhood and get to know some of the other families better. 

This was our entry clue, we had to find this rock, Marc turned it into a potatoe.  

We had a code to decipher and find these triangles with eyes on them. 

This was the hardest clue for us. There was a picture of a ring of rocks, and a pyramid. We had to find it, write our name and lie down by it. 

 The pyramid was at the top of a gnarly hike that I took the kids on by myself. Apparently there's this pyramid structure/statue up at the top.  

We played "Russian Roulette" with 11 hard boiled eggs and one raw one. Tyler found the raw one as he smashed it against his forehead. 

I'm looking for pictures of our exploding watermelon, but we put a couple hundred rubber bands around a watermelon to make it explode. Ours was one of the only ones that actually exploded. 

We had to find some bridges and use some funky video apps some weeks. There was one clue we couldn't figure out. 

The last clue could only be done at night using flashlights. The kids found the Orange W and there  was some prizes. 

The Wanda Witch Adventure was probably our favorite thing about October. We had a blast together and were all a little sad when it ended. On Halloween, because our family got so many points, the kids were able to get King Sized Candy Bars and these giant pixie sticks from the Eckersleys. Talk about making it especially awesome for them.
