New Year's Celebrations

Ok, so maybe we didn't really celebrate, but we were somewhat busy this weekend! Saturday we packed away Christmas, it's kind of a relief not to find ornaments and nativity figures all over the house! To "get out of the house" we took the kids over to the mall to play in the kiddie area. It was great until Bryce spied the train that was manipulating(ly) placed right next to the play area to grab all the kids' attention and drive the adults nuts. It was this stupid ride on train that went around in a circle for 60 seconds and they charged $2 a person for it! I hate all these gimmicks that want to trap the adults into thinking they have to do this for the kids or their kids will hate them. Fortunately, our kids were not old enough to realize that it was an option to ride the train, they are still easily enough amused that they could just watch it and be happy. We then went over to Sam's Club just to taste the samples out. What can I say, our family likes cheap entertainment!

This Sunday was our last Afternoon church!!!!!!! Woo hoo! I am so excited to have church in the morning, you don't even understand what a nightmare it was to have two 19 month olds who seriously need a nap, but aren't getting one because we are obediently going to church. Marc's Mom's family got together for a little party that night so we went over to their house to help entertain.

Monday, we celebrated by getting eye exams and then with the help of Marc's Dad and Grandfather we got lighting put up in our basement, it looks great! I can't wait to get the walls built and drywalled and all that good stuff. After a business meeting we went out and got a new camera!!! We've been having issues with ours and it just isn't meeting our needs anymore so with the cash and gift cards we received for Christmas, we purchased a new Canon Power Shot. So get ready for loads of new pictures and VIDEOS! which we've really started to get into lately. That night we watched "Meet the Robinsons" which surprisingly is a really cute movie! We really liked it. Not meaning to stay up until 12, we were kept up by enthusiastic neighbors with bells, pots and pans, and fireworks that went on until about 12:30

New Years Day was somewhat disappointing mainly because Marc was sick all day with the stomach flu and wasn't able to do anything but lie on the couch or in bed. So I entertained all day and taught the boys how to play hide n' seek (which consisted of me hiding and the boys coming to find me) we had a blast. I'm always shocked how we can do the same thing 10 times in a row and they will laugh the last time as much as they did the first. Anyway, I'm sure you're sick of hearing me ramble on, so until next time, ciao!

We had afternoon church this past year and since we moved last week, we unfortunately have it again for another whole year!!!! I'm so not looking forward to it. The boys will be 11 months to 23 months old for 1:00 church. (did that make sense?) Oh the torture!
