Vacation Recap part 1

Wednesday Oct 24 we flew from Cincinnati to Denver to Salt Lake. The boys did awesome! Bryce thought he was in truck heaven at the airport with all the buses, trucks, airplanes, "trains" and everything to see. He and Tyler were definitely easily entertained just looking out the window. We arrived in Salt Lake early afternoon, rented a car and drove up to my brother's house in Fruit Heights. Jason and Jen have 3 kids, their youngest, Nathan is the same age as the twins and all three boys had a blast playing together. We got to go to both Natalie's and Allison's soccer games while we were there. We crashed that night only to be woken up at 5:00 in the morning by boys who wouldn't go back to sleep.

Thursday Oct 25 I think we felt like we were dragging all day! Nathan woke up at 5:30 so all three babies were up and cranky. My dad was in Utah that day for some tests at the University of Utah so he came over to have sourdough pancakes with all of us. We got to see Alli get on the bus which all of the little boys loved. The kids were so tired we couldn't keep them up past 9:30 in the morning for a nap! When they woke up, Marc and I took all three boys to the Children's Museum at the Gateway. We felt like we had triplets! Everybody was staring at us. The kids had a good time playing with everything. As Marc puts it, we felt like we were playing defense against them the entire time, anticipating their next moves, blocking them in somewhere, just trying to keep control! At the museum, they had a helicopter that the kids could get in and play, it was really cool! Overall we had a good time, we were all definitely wiped out!

Friday Oct 26 We drove down to Provo in the morning. We first stopped at my friend (and former roommate) Jaclyn's house. She just had a little baby, Austin, who was 2 weeks old. Tyler was so curious about Austin and kept coming over, at one point he even gave Austin a kiss on the head, it was so cute!

From there we went over to BYU Sports Camps where Marc used to work. We loved seeing Elaine, Von, Vince, and Chelsea! We have such fond memories of the years that we were there. Von and Vince made such a difference in Marc's life and impacted the way he is a manager over his employees today. Time flew while we were "reminiscing" and I felt so bad because my friend Kallie had been waiting for us to come over and it was 45 minutes later than we said we were going to be there! I'm so sorry Kallie! It was great to see her and Melissa! I enjoyed meeting Kallie's new husband and somewhat catching up on the last 7 years, yikes! We then jumped over to our very good friends' Scott & Lee, and Levi & Tana. They are some of our very best friends, we truly love them as family and miss them greatly. We spent the night at Scott & Lee's. Marc said, that night sleeping on their couch was the most comfortable night of sleep I got the whole trip. Thanks guys!

Saturday Oct 27 We had breakfast with Scott & Lee. Their little boy Ty, who is 2 was entertaining the boys for us. He was making them laugh so hard!

We then drove up to Lehi to see my Grandma. We had a great time visiting with her, and we all enjoyed a nice walk together. The boys had a fun time getting into all her stuff, they even found a pair of wood shoes that my dad had sent home from his mission to Holland.

We had a little bit of time before our flight, so we decided to stop by Temple Square for a little while and let the kids run around and just enjoy being outside. It had been a long time since either Marc and I had been to the Visitors Center and we were very impressed with the changes that had been made down in the lower level. There were all sorts of short videos with displays, it was really interesting. After that we returned our car, checked in and had an uneventful flight to Boise. I'll pick up from there on the next post. :)
