Mother-Daughter Night

Our Relief Society had a mother/daughter night last Tuesday. I was really looking forward to going to it with Lexi. Marc was working late and couldn't get the kids until after the activity had started, so I had to drag the boys with me. They sat in the corner upset that they were the only boys in the room and Tyler kept complaining that "it's too loud in here!" I had brought their bikes with me to the church, Marc met us at the church on his bike, and then rode home with the boys (about 1.5 away).

Lexi was so cute. We painted nails first and she kept saying "thank you Mommy!" over and over again. She's not quite ready for nail polish on her fingers yet, most of it was off within 10 minutes, but she enjoys getting her toes painted and loves to show them off. We then decorated cupcakes and she was very excited about the Jelly Beans. If there was any leftover candies on the table, she made sure she snagged them. She didn't eat any of the cake part of it, but made sure she scooped off all the icing and candies, silly girl! The last thing we did together was paint a wooden block purple and create a phrase to put on it. We decided to go with "LOVE" or as Lexi calls it "Lub". She proudly brought it home to her Daddy, pointed out the "super letters" on it (one of her favorite shows right now is "SuperWhy on PBS). We had a really good time together. Her cuteness just tickles me!

Unfortunately, she developed a raging fever shortly after we got home and had a horrid night sleeping. I tried sleeping on the floor in her room but she wanted to be snuggled, so we came down and tossed and turned on the couch together. She spent the next 2 days laying on the couch demanding to watch tv and burning up. No other symptoms, just fever. Finally on Thursday night when she reached 103, I took her into Urgent Care. They suspected a UTI, so we took a urine sample. She had a little bit of fluid in one of her ears, so the doctor put her on Sulfa to cover both ends if needed. She was feeling much better the next day. The urine culture turned up negative for an infection, so it must have been her ears causing all the trouble.
