Fall Pictures

We took the recommendations of many, and headed out to Kathryn Albertson's Park in Boise to take some fall pictures of the kids. I don't remember ever going there when I was growing up. It's beautiful! It's also crawling with photographers and families, lol. We couldn't believe how everyone was there to have their picture taken, including us!

We've discovered a few things about or kids over the years of taking their pictures. Tyler is naturally photogenic. He mostly cooperates well for pictures, will follow directions, and has a great smile.
Lexi is quick to smile, and quick to move. If you don't get your picture the moment after you pose her, she's gone.

Bryce is eager to please, but is extremely difficult to photograph. He shuts down in front of a camera and we're never really able to capture his true smile, especially in his eyes.
Even if you have a fun log for the kids to sit on, and beautiful fall colors behind them, they will give you pictures like this:
And if you run out of patience with Bryce and get frustrated because he's not smiling or following directions, he will give you pictures like this:
BUT, if you keep cool, make it fun and have bribes along the way, you might get some pictures like this:

Or this:
Or maybe (sometimes with a new photographer) even this:

And, if your lucky, you have someone with mad photoshop skills that will later change Tyler's head to a happy smiley face
Before:
After:
and you can call it successful :)
