Eagle Island

My mom and I took some several of the kids to Eagle Island, which is a lake with a man made beach, grassy park with picnic tables, and a water slide (in pool water). Fortunately for us, the water slide was closed (it costs additional money to purchase tickets to ride it, and the hill is not a fun one to climb over and over again especially for little kids) We had a picnic, then let the kids go play in the water.

The kids had a blast! I put the boys in life jackets and just let them go wherever they wanted, which worked out great, because I could just concentrate on Lexi and they loved the freedom of being able to go "swim" with their older cousins. Lexi loved picking up the sand and dropping it into the water over and over and over. She was delighted to just wade in the water a little bit and run up onto the beach. The water temperature was great, the sun was shining and it was a great afternoon. It also wore the kids out so much, that we all took naps that afternoon which was glorious! We can wait to go back and take Marc with us this time.
