Moving Forward.....Slowly

It's been a week since Fannie Mae accepted our offer, and we are still not fully under contract with them. Last Friday they accepted our price, & our earnest money amount. We had asked them to pay all of our closing costs, and they countered with paying up to 3%, or $2700. After talking with our loan agent to make sure we would still have enough cash to bring to closing, we accepted those terms then went into the LONG weekend. Our loan agent told us she could lock us into an interest rate (dang rates have been climbing steadily since December) & fine tune the details of closing once she had a signed 13 page addendum from Fannie Mae. We didn't receive that until late Tuesday night, we got it back to them by Wednesday morning expecting to hear back from them Wednesday afternoon (I had forgotten we were dealing with a Bank)......Our Realtor called that night to let us know we probably wouldn't get that back from them until Friday.

So everything is on hold until the bank gets back to us with their signatures on the 13 page contract/addendum. Once that is completed, the Listing Agent will turn on the utilities so we can have a Home Inspection. When we have that completed, our Loan agent can order an appraisal and we can get our loan processed and have a closing date. We can then move into the house immediately after closing. We gave our 30 day notice on the house that we're renting when the bank accepted our offer, so we have until February 13th to move out & have everything cleaned. We're aiming to move on February 5th unless for some reason the closing date is later. In the meantime, I've been shopping for Home Owners Insurance, comparing refrigerators, & selling toys on Craigslist to clear out some space & earn some cash. Big plans for packing next week when we can get our hands one some more boxes.
