Picking Pumpkins

Gina & Bryan told us their friend "Farmer Brown" had invited them over to pick pumpkins at his field and wondered if we would like to join them. We turned it into an extended family home evening activity. We ate pumpkin soup with homemade rolls together, then went out to the field. Unfortunately, the Sorenson's got stuck in the mud right as we showed up. The kids were all a little nervous about how they were going to get the car out:Bryan was able to get towed out by another truck, but it was no easy feat! The kids were chomping at the bit to get pick their pumpkins:
Tyler and Bryce could not believe all the pumpkins they had to choose from. They kept running from pumpkin to pumpkin screaming, "How about this one!" We tried to convince them to walk around for a little bit before they made their decision:

Bryce wanted the biggest pumpkin he could find, he found a tall skinny one he wanted:
Tyler also grabbed a tall skinny one. He picked his off the vine before we could help and took the whole stem off, but he likes that his doesn't have a stem, it sets it apart:
Lexi was happy to have anything. She just wanted to go home out of the mud and find a potty:
Can you tell how fake his smile is? He was not in the mood for pictures, but cooperated anyway, what a guy!
Hauling in the loot and trying not to get stuck in the mud!Thank you Sorenson's for inviting us to come along with you and thank you Farmer Brown for the awesome pumpkins!
