Tyler's Surgery

Yesterday (Wed. the 19th) Tyler had surgery to put the tubes back in his ears. He did FABULOUS! We are so proud of our brave little boy! He was so cooperative the entire time we were there. The nurses warned us that it might be a struggle to get him to go to sleep under the anesthesia and that we would probably have to hold him down in order to get the mask on him and what not. Tyler just sat there playing with a toy as they held the gas mask up to his face and he slowly closed his eyes and went right to sleep. The procedure was very quick! In no time the Dr. was out to see us and told us he removed a lot of fluid from his ears and was "quite satisfied" that we had gone forward with the surgery, (which made me feel so much better about our decision to do it!) We were expecting to see a cranky inconsolable little guy in the recovery room, but when we were called back there he was sitting up drinking apple juice. I held him there in my lap as he just guzzled it down. After a few minutes, anticipating a meltdown, he was just fine and dandy as if nothing had happened! We were sent on our way where the rest of the day went on like normal. Isn't modern medicine such a miracle!! We are especially grateful to Marc's mom who helped watch Bryce while we were gone.
