December Happenings

This is the problem with waiting almost 6 months to update a blog. I can't remember the things I wanted to write about!! Hopefully I took some pictures to refresh my memory.

We had a fun time getting ready for the Christmas this year. While Bob and Deb were here, they helped us put up the tree and get some of the Christmas Decorations up.

The kids' school hosted a "Night at the North Pole". There was a choir performance and different stations where they could decorate cookies, do a craft, listen to stories. It's the one school function I'll go to, but can hardly stand it, it takes a real effort to keep my cool. The hallways are narrow, the crowds are terrible, and the kids are out of control hyper. We got to see Santa and then bolted!

Marc started his new job. The training was pretty intense. He had an hour long presentation to memorize word for word and be able to deliver it like he was having a conversation with someone. He worked really hard and when it was time to present, he blew the others out of the water! So proud of him. It's different seeing him dressed up in a tie for work every day now (vs. Jeans or shorts), but he sure looks good! How ironic that we moved out here to be closer to work, save money on gas and such, and he's now commuting back to Meridian from where we moved from. However, we never would have been able to have financial freedom if we had not have moved! We're still saving hundreds of dollars every month by not living in Meridian, but the thought of moving has crossed our minds.

Lexi and I got to go to the Disney on Ice this year! My mom gave us tickets, and even ended up with two extra ones that we could take Gina and Alyson too. We stopped for a quick meal at Carl's Jr. then raced downtown. The show started with the "Princess and the Frog", which Lexi hasn't seen and really wasn't that into. But then they moved to" Cinderella" and she started to get a lot more into it. They ended with "Tangled" and that was amazing! They used a lot of wire work to be lifted in the air and flown around the ice and it was really cool. We had a really fun time and loved having a Girls Night Out.

While we were having a girls night out, Marc took Tyler and Bryce out. Tyler had won free movie tickets from the Dentist, and they still had free kids meals at Buffalo Wild Wings, so Marc took them to dinner and a movie and the only thing he paid for was his meal and the huge dessert that they shared! They went to see the movie "Wreck it Ralph" and had a really good time. We need to do more activities like this where the kids have special time with Mom or Dad.

Part of our Christmas Gifts to Grandma and Grandpa was canvas paintings from each kid. The kids loved doing this and now I need them to do some for me!

I think the Christmas activity would drive me crazy too! It sounds like your little dates were a blast though!
